Half day tour
The olive tree, symbol of the mediterranean culture, is part of the landscape on the French Riviera.
For centuries, the local economy relied essentialy on the cultivating of olive trees and the selling of olive oil.
This tour includes the visit of an authentic and still active olive mill in Opio where the manufacturing process is explained. This visit is particularly interesting in winter, when the olives are pressed after their harvest.
Then a trip to Cagnes-sur-Mer to see the olive tree museum housed inside the old fortified castle and stroll afterwards through one of the most beautiful olive groves of the area in the garden surrounding the Auguste Renoir Museum.
The tour can eventualy also include a visit to the workshop of an olivewood carver.
